Sonal, who got married in 2005 as well, took a break for a while but, looks like the actress is now back in full swing with ‘Aashayein’ to conquer ‘Sara Akash’.

Sonal Sehgal does not plan to quit television but she claims that there was nothing good to look forward to `Hotel Kingston`. On the personal front also Sonal Sehgal is quite happy and contented. She tied the knot with Naresh Kamath on 7th December at Ram Mandir, which is situated in Bandra in the Indian state of Maharashtra. He is a guitarist in the popular band called `Kailasa`. He is supportive in the profession of his wife. She claims that irrespective of the marital status also she would be able to give her best on screen. She also remarked in a recent interview that her hair decided the fate of her role in this film. She went for an audition for this role but lost hopes of getting any chance. But on the final day he got a call from the filmmaker who wanted her to straight hair. It is expected that she would appear in this movie in a de-glam `avtaar` called Sapna without even a speck of makeup on her face. She says that working with John Abraham was indeed a great experience as he embodied punctuality, humility and sincerity. The extremely actress Sonal Sehgal made her acting debut in Bollywood with movie `U Bomsi and Me`. But she considers the offer of `Aashayaein` opposite the popular Bollywood actor John Abraham as the turning point of her career.

Sonal Sehgal was seen in 2005 in a Hinglish movie ‘U Bomsi and Me’ but, the movie went unnoticed. The actress has now however, got a meatier project and hopes that this time things work in her favor.

John Abraham plays the male lead in the movie and Ayesha Takia was to be casted opposite him but, the actress passed on the project as it expected her to do a kissing scene with John.

After wooing the viewers in ‘Sara Akash’ and ‘Hotel Kingstone’ telly actress Sonal Sehgal is heading for Bollywood. Nagesh Kukunoor, who is directing John Abraham in ‘Aashayein’, has been hunting for an actress for long and looks like he has finally settled in for Sonal.
Sonal Sehgal catapulted to fame with her powerhouse performance in `Saara Akaash`, which used to be broadcasted on the Star Plus channel. In that soap she was seen essaying the role of terrorist. Another claim to her fame and recognition would definitely be to the television serial `Hotel Kingston`.

The small-screen actress has been pencilled in to star opposite the composer-singer-actor. Ishq Unplugged will be the Bollywood directorial debut of Swapna Waghmare Joshi who has earlier directed scores of television serials.
Before Sonal Sehgal pursued the profession of acting whole-heartedly she was assisting the ad filmmaker and director Pradeep Sarkar whose directorial debut was the Bollywood chartbuster `Parineeta`. Following that she performed in a few ad campaigns. Then she also appeared in a couple of music like `Maeri` with the popular Indian pop band Euphoria. Then she also acted in another superhit album `Ghunghat` by the ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas.

She was also seen in some episodes of `Kasauti Zindagi Ki`. Then she appeared in a very meaty role in `Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin`. She the character of Shiuli who is not Miss Goody and definitely not a vamp. She is a spoilt brat who had all the riches with her but has yearned for love all her life. She fondly remembers this character of hers, as it was indeed a very special role. She also hosted anchor-based Bollywood show `Aaj Ki Filmy Khabar`. She also got to chat with some of the very famous Bollywood stars in this show, which was a thrilling experience for her.
