Prachi

Prachi has walked out of two films of Balaji Films because the two big banners with whom she has recently signed for two films have a clause that she can not in any other films until their films have been released. She is completing Abbas Mustan's Life Partner and Mahesh Bhatt’s Jashan, both of which she signed before signing up with the new banners. Ekta, who is not only Prachi's mentor but a good well, has accepted it graciously and has relieved Prachi of any commitments with her production house. (September 3, 2008)

"I don't know when I will go back to TV. If my films don't do well, I will have to go back. But right now I'm doing films and I hope it takes me somewhere," Prachi told IANS.

Desai was born in Gujarat, India, on September 12, 1988.She is now 18 years old. She studied in St Joseph’s convent, Panchgani, and completed her schooling from Surat in Gujarat. Her present residence is in Lokhandwala with her mother, Ameeta Desai. Her hobbies are acting, sports, listening to music, and sketching. She has an elder sister, Esha.

Acting was her passion since childhood - her father and uncle had done various of Gujarati - though she with a short modeling workshop. She went to Pune for higher studies and had almost finished her junior college when her pictures were sent to Balaji and she got a call for an audition for Kasamh Se.

Kasamh Se is the serial that Prachi Desai starred in and got her fame on Zee TV. She has captured many a hearts with this program acting as innocent but strong willed Bani Dixit (Now Bani Walia). Prachi has become the sweetheart and role model for many young girls across the globe from punjbai kuris to Indians. In the serial Bani goes through many trials leading from forcefull marriage to the adultery of her husband. Through it all Bani learns to love her husband again. The show is still proceeding and has millions of viewers world wide. The serial's stars have won many awards in the Indian Television Awards 2006 and bagged Best Serial at the Sansui Television Awards 2007. The show started in January 2006 and is expected to finish around the year 2009.

Kasauti Zindagi Ki is the Star Plus TV serial in which Prachi did a cameo as a school student in Prerna's school. Prachi Desai was her character name in Kasauti Zindagi Ki.It is less famous then Kasamh Se.


Prachi Desai is the oldest sister in the show she is starring in which is Kasam Se. In reality she is actually the youngest out of the three. Prachi Desai is the best looking sister out of three because she is nice and simple. In the other hand Piya(the middle sister) is a girl that shows off to get handsome rich boys in the serial. Rano is very simple but yet not that pretty. Prachi Desi has a beautiful figure that can give her a role in any serial or movie.
